No. The problem is that the only way that USCIS has to initiate a criminal check with the FBI is to get a new set of fingerprints. The logical, faster and cheaper thing to do would be to resubmit the old ones again.
But we all know the miserable fate that logic, speed and frugality suffer at the hands of USCIS. Saddam's prisons were kinder and gentler.
