hello
my brother (national of syria) holds B1/B2 visa, he visited me this year and stayed here for 1 month, then he left the country (all legaly and nothing special)

i applied for him for graduate school, he got accepted i am hoping I20 will be issues soon

one question whether when he applies for F1, and worst case they deny him the F1 visa
would the embassey also invalidate/revoke his B1/B2 visitor visa (which still has 1.5 years expiration date)

any recommendations?

Yes they can put a cancelled without prejudice stamp on it, I have seen it happening before. You just never know what the CO would do.

no f1 is the goal, he wants to pursue his graduate studies
no we are wiating on the I20, since he is applying for not very well known university (tuition fees) i m afraid that F1 might get denied

this i m debating whether he should come here on B1/B2 and then use the issued I20 to adjust his status, he will be enrolled in school and i dont foresee him requiring to visit home during his 2 years study

i m just afraid that F1 get denied ... any thoughts?
