Does every selectee get an interview?

Hi,

So one burning question I haven't seemingly found a definitive answer to here,

My case number is OC000028XX, now looking back at 2013 winners, it wasn't till September that all case numbers became current. I assume that to mean, if you hadn't had your number brought up until then you would get an interview in September for issuance of your DV Visa?

Is this correct?

It seems the numbers are going up the same way that they have since the last round of DV Lottery.

So do all selectees get an interview? Anyone heard of someone not getting an interview based on this?

DV2014 is different to any of the recent lotteries.

They have been selecting around 105k “winners” annually – but DV2014 has 140k selected – a 35% increase. You could assume that every region was going to have a 35% increase, but OC, strangely, has had around a 100% increase. The global 35% increase was done (according to their statement) to ensure the quota is filled. To me that means they selected more winners than they need – and that means that some selectees in world will not get an interview and won’t get a visa. However, no one really knows when the quota will be exhausted.

For OC the doubling of the selectees MAY mean they increased the regional quota for OC (that is what I believe). However, there is no proof to prove or disprove that.

So – it is likely that some people won’t get their interview and OC (like other regions) will probably have some disappointed people). Where the axe will fall – VERY hard to tell – especially for OC. Fingers crossed for you…

Just to add, while DV2014 is different to recent lotteries, if you go back a bit further there were a number of years where not all selectees got an interview. So an interview is certainly not guaranteed.

I am in the OC lot as well.... with my number between 2000 and 2100 I am hoping I just scrape into getting an interview.
