Does EAD renewal require IBIS check

Foes anyone know if EAD renewal needs IBIS check too.
And from when. My friend wants to know if his ead renewal case will be approved from VSC soon, concerning the recent delay of IBIS software installation.
 
What's your answer.

If EAD renewal requires IBIS check too, then ppl who got EAD approved recently should not worry about IBIS name hit.
