Does EAD renewal generally result in I-485 LUD change?

I just applied a couple days ago to renew my EAD and I'm kind of hoping that this will somehow trigger an I-485 approval (ND: 10/23/03, I-140 approved, FP done, name check done), although the odds are probably pretty low...

For people who have renewed their EAD already, did your I-485 LUD change around the time that the EAD was processed?

Yes It did change for both my spouse and myself I-485 case when we renewed our EAD's during June 2004 but not changed when we applied for AP

I hope it could trigger for your approval if you have all other neccessary check done for your case..

did you apply for the renewal yourself or thru a lawyer, if you did it yourself could you let me know what documents you sent it.

I applied for EAD2 and AP2 after FP and Name Check done. First LUD chanded for EAD2 and then LUD changed for EAD2 of me and my wife and also for AP2 for me, my wife and my son without changing the message (Still says, received your application, it is taking blah blah...). Then LUD changed for I-485 of me and my wife without any change in message (we resumed your case after receiving FP, blah, blah....) See my signature. I don't know what is going on.....
Any idea....
 
I applied for EADs in the end of Oct, LUD changed only for EAD (twice, Nov 15 and Nov 18) but not for I-485. Last LUD change for I-485 was after FP done (see signature)
I will let you know if LUD will change for I-485.. hoping for it!!!!!

I did it through our company lawyer but there's no reason you can't do it yourself. The full list of documents that you need is in the instructions for the form (from the USCIS site). You need things like:

+completed, signed EAD renewal form
+copy of both sides of current EAD
+copy of I-485
+copy of current I-94 (e.g. if on H)
+2 passport style photos (with A# written on back in light pencil)
+filing fee
+G-28 (if going through lawyer)

Some of the requirements depend on your catagory (e.g. whether you are filing for EAD based on a pending I-485 which most of us on this site are afaik).

My RD is oct 22, 2003 and ND is OCt 28 2003.

When i applied for EAD2.. LUD did not change.. I got the approval in 5-7 working days.

Sametime i applied for my AP2. But the strange thing was that i was not able to track the AP2 receipt number for both me and wife on USCIS site. I was not even able to add these receipt numbers to my profile to see LUD changes. So i waited for more than a month. Still i was not able to add or track AP2 receipt numbers. Then i initiated a enquiry and after three weeks i received my AP2 approval for me and my wife on 10/26/2004. But still LUD did not change for I 485.

Then on 11/4 LUD changed for my I485 case but not for my wife with no message change. After that no more lud change or any activity.

I dont know whether the LUD change on 11/4 is due to AP2 or some activity.

Also i dont understand why we are not seeing any oct 2003 approvals. I have seen nov and dec 2003 approvals also but not oct 2003 to my knowledge.

FYI.. Mine and my wife FP are complete on sept3 and name check is done on Nov 2003.

I don't think the VSC is processing many October - December 2003 cases yet but there have been some approvals / transfers for each of those months. Hopefully the activity for October cases will pick up in a couple months (most of the 2003 activity seems to be with July cases currently).

According to immigrationwatch.com

Oct 2003: 6210 cases, 63 approvals, 1186 transfers
Nov 2003: 5220 cases, 63 approvals, 903 transfers
Dec 2003: 5264 cases, 41 approvals, 1281 transfers

What the heck, here's a shot of the entire list of stats for 2003 485's at the VSC taken from www.immigrationwatch.com...

me and my spouse applied for EAD2 on 8-oct-04, I-485 LUD changed for both of us on 10/11,10/13. I am not sure that LUD change is due to EAD2 process.
