Does card come from Service Center or local INS ?

Today I my passport stamped at Atlanta and I was told that it will take 6 to 12months
to get the actual card. My service center was VSC

Does it that long to get the card ? Anybody has any experience from Atlanta/VSC ?

We got our 485 approved on Sep 27 and received our courtesy copy
on cot 2. we are still waiting for the original copy from our
lawyer\'s office to go to the local INS and get our passport stamped.
Did you take your courtesy copy for stamping ?
What was your experience at Atlanta INS Office (Time you went,
Waiting time etc)

Hi Natwar, The card comes from VSC not from local INS. The local INS office will send the fingerprinted I-89 form at the time of stamping to VSC and after that VSC do the processing for the card. It is better you call VSC after 2 weeks or so from stamping date to check whether the local INS office have sent your papers or not.
