I came to the US on a 10-Year Multiple Entry B2 Visa and converted to a L1 within the US. Doe this conversion cancel/void my 10 year B2 Visa in my passport.

If I return to India now, can I re-enter into the US using the old B-2 Visa in my passport ( 10 years from initial B-2 date are not over yet) or do I have to apply for a neew one at the consulate?

Since you filed a COS to convert to L-1, your B-2 visa will NOT be of much use. You cannot enter the U.S on a B-1/B-2 visa. You need to get a L-1 visa stamp at the U.S Consulate in your home country. The visa interview ofcourse will not be easy, because when you went for your B-1 visa you promised to return back, but you did'nt and consular officers WILL NOT be happy with your change of status. I know of a case where the person filed for a COS from B-1 to H1B. Went for H1B stamping to the consulate, the VO grilled him a lot and placed his visa under admin processing. not sure what happened after that

So better consult a good immigration attorney on this. In the end it is upto the VO to give you a visa or not

If you want to reenter on B1/B2 you do not need to visit the consulate but you will no longer be L1 and cannot work.
Please dont confuse stamp with status.
One person can have more than one stamps on the passport but only one status at a time which is what you get as you enter the country.

To continue working on L1 you will need to enter with L1 stamp
