I filed my I-485 in the begining of June and the RD,ND, FP for my case is June 8, August 28 and November 29 respectively, but not approved yet. I just talked to the immigration officer in Vermont and I was told that they are waiting for my I-140 from NVC, once they get my I-140, my application will be processed. I am not sure whether this is true or not, does anybody know the procedure of processing the I-485 application? does anybody get the same answer from INS? any information on this issue will be highly appreciated.

Your I-140 is for CP

Looks like your I-140 was approved for CP instead of AOS, although you probably didn\'t opt for it. It sounds like VSC has already placed a request to have it sent back from NVC. Don\'t know how long it takes in average. In my case, it took more than six months.
