Does an IIO usually tell you about some detail on RFE ?

AVM said that INS sent the second RFE on 01/26/2002. But i haven\'t received
it, so I was trying to find out what the RFE is about.
Before I waste a couple of hours to connect to INS on this, I would like to
know whether I can get some information from an IIO on the phone.
Any suggestion ? Thanks.

I think they tell you that "RFE is sent on so and so date", apart from that I never heard any one on this board saying that they came to know any thing more from IIO.

Sometimes

Sometimes the IIO can give details and sometimes not. I\'m not sure whether the difference is due to more information being entered into the system in some cases or just more helpful IIOs.

Like Jim says, it depends on what information is...

updated by the officer when generating the RFE. The IIO\'s can only see your case details online. They usually formulate answers from what they read from the screen. I am with PCee, I don\'t remember anybody posting that they spoke to an IIO and got specific info about their RFE. I remember several posts to the contrary though. Nancy, it\'s worth a shot. Please let us know what transpires.
 
No I haven\'t received it yet

It is just killing me. I don\'t know what to do any more. My lawyer said there is nothing they can do to get the letter other than just waiting. I will call INS after 14 days passes, which will be next monday.
 
Nancy there may not be a second RFE for you

For my case (cutting down the big story short here) -

      - RFE notice issued on Dec 26th for W2s, Paystubs and
         employment letter.

      - RFE was responded on Jan 25th. I checked the AVM on
         Jan 25th and surprisingly it said -

            "On Jan 24th we issued RFE..."

      - After calling IIO, this was a man who told me first
         that -

         - They had ordered an RFE on 24th Jan only and
             there should be only one RFE issued.

         After probing little more about RFE issued in Dec
         he looked into the system (another one?) and said

         - Yes, the there are two RFEs.

    It looks like there was only one RFE after all.

    - The AVM was updated for acknowledgement of response on
        Jan 31st and my case was approved on Feb 1st.
        (AVM updated to approved on Feb 4th).

So wait for some more time and see. Probably there is no second
RFE for your case.
