Does a prior name check count?

Hi,

I had a name check done for my h1-b visa revalidation in July 2005. I-485 and I-131 are pending. Does my earlier name check count ? I received an RFE on I-131 asking for copy of my I-94 with fingerprint id and copies of passport. Visa on my passport even mentions "CLEARANCE RECEIVED 28JUL2005". Anyone had similar experience?

I don't think so. In fact, I have reasons to believe that having such MANTIS clearance makes the things worse - evidently, everybody I know who had it got stuck in name check subsequently.

This varies, some got lucky to get the approval in less then a year, some are still waiting for over three years now...
Nobody got the things done within the 6-months "guaranteed" time frame though.
 
I guess the fact that name check took a long time for revalidation is a good indication it will take long for i485. Lets see how it goes this time. Thanks for your input.
