Hello.
I came to the U.S. about a year and a half ago with B2 ( tourist visa valid for 6 months ). I went to a public high school in my town. When my tourist visa started expriring I filled out a form to change my status to a F-1 student. It got approved and I got an I-20 form from the high school. Now, I'm in 12th grade ( 3 months to my graduation ) and would like to go to a college, but there is a problem: an international students advisor at the college I've been trying to apply says that I'm out of status becasue I was in the public school more than 12 months. She also says that I should of pay about $10,000 fee to the high school for "getting education" there for about a year. The school never told me that I could't be there no longer than 12 months, and they said that it was 100% FREE. Ok, I am still in the status - I have few more days. I'm kind of surprised about that whole story/situation but I need to figure something out really fast. I talked with an immigration lawyer, and he says that I should transfer to a private school for these 3 months. However, they want me to pay them like $4,000 for 3 moths ... I just don't have it. I don't have that $10,000 for the high school either...
I am just wondering, if I got married within these few days with an UCS if that could possibly help me stay in the U.S. and apply for adjustment of status in the near future?? If there is anybody who can give me any background or any advice it will be grealty appreciated by me.
( sry for my english mistakes but i am really frustrated right now... )
If a marriage is going to help, please let me know what forms do I have to fill?
