Does a child need to do passport stamping ?

I received my courtesty copy today.
My daughter is 13 now. In her courtesty copy, it did not mention to go
to local INS for pastport stamping. It said that the new alien registration card will be mailed directly to the applicant.

Do I need to bring her to PP stamping ?

People normally take child for stamping.

The reason being that plastic card may take long time (6 mons- a year) to arrive. So in case u need to travel outside US for some reason, your child is stuck.
