Documets required for H4 Visa

My spouse has a UK citizen and is staying in India on student visa. I would like to know what H4 documentss are required. Does she has to file some petition

Are you on H1 in USA?

If yes then your company/lawyers have to file for H4 for your wife and she can go to the US consulate in UK as she is a British citizen.
