Documents Translation for interview

Hi all,
do you know if i need to translate official documents from school , university or army
in official lawyers office ? which is quite expensive in my country
or i can just use a standard translation company ? which should be much cheaper

monashed - if your documents are not in English then you need to have a certified translator or certified translation company or lawyer to translate the documents for you.

how can i know if translation company is certified ?

You need to check in your country if it is a government certified or education authority certified translation company (as translation companies translate school books as well).

you people only need to translate documents if they're not in English or in the official language of the country in which you're going to attend the interview. I mean if you still live in the same country from which you're obtaining your documents and that's where you're having your interview there's no need of translation. if you moved to another country, and are going to have your interview there then yes you need to translate them.

They ask for translation, and there is a huge price difference between lawyer and regular translation

Do the original documents such as academic certificate need to attested by embassy for those living outside their native country or can go for interview with original without attestation??

Tew from what I read all translation has to be certified. Technically it means either a recognised/certified translation company or certified translator must do this (lawyers commonly translate documents and notarise them as well).
