Documents received at Chicago, what does that mean?

Hi,

My status showed that the documents were reeived at Chicago on 20-NOV-2007, but I have not received any acknowledgement what so ever.
Can I take my passports(and my families) and get the OCI stamp, what is the proof that I need to show the consulate?

Not sure if they allow in person stamping.I know DC does not.You have to mail in you passports to them to get it stamp.If you have not send in Indian passport to cancell you will need to send that in as well.Once you status shows received.You can go ahead and mail in your passports,online status .to show proff that is was approved and recived by the consulate.
