Documents needed for 140/485 Filing?

Hello,

I would like to know what documents (checklist) are needed for 140 and 485 filing and which documents are needed to be notarized.

I don’t have birth certificate. My Date of birth is mentioned on 10th mark sheet and passport. Does that work? Or how can I arrange birth certificate for filing 140/485?

If you dont have a birth certificate then you have to get a birth affidavit notarized from India. The affidavit can either be prepared by your mom or your dad.

If BC is not available on local office in India, get a Non- availability certificate & two affidavites from parents.

I will do that. Do we need the same for spouse ( dependent) also? she donot have BC also.

Someone told me that the affidavits and non-availability certificate must be issued within six months when you file I485 for all the members of family. Is this true?
