I plan to renew my 6th EAD. MY case is EB2 (working in a university). Do I miss sth in the following list to renew a new EAD:
1. Form I-765
2. Application fee $180
3. A copy of I-94
4. A copy of my last EAD
5. Two passport-style photos

Should I send a copy of the notice of my I485, driver license? THanks.

Can someone give me a reply? I really appricaite it in advance. In addition, I check the uscis website which says "You should apply for a renewal EAD six months before your original EAD expires". But in my past five renewal, it only took less than 3 months. Is this the latest development? Pls give me a hint on this. Thanks.

If this EAD is based on a pending I-485, then you must include a copy of the I-485 receipt notice. Some also advise to include the I-140 receipt notice as well (it wouldn't hurt).

You also need a clear copy of your ID: Your data page of your passport page should suffice. In the past, if they didn't have this ID they would send the EAD to the local USCIS office instead of to your home address, and make you go and pick it up personally (with proper ID).

I haven't read the USCIS instructions recently, but I do know that processing times are about to be increased significantly due to an upcoming flood of new applications. Therefore, it's best to use the 6-month guideline if that's what they say.

Thanks for the reply. I have another question:
• Copy of front/back of last EAD and previous EAD mailer;
what is EAD mailer?

THanks.

When you got your last EAD, it was attached to a letter inside the envelope it arrived in. The top part of that letter is the mailer. You can tell because it says something like "retain the top portion of this letter for renewing your EAD" or something like that.

If you threw away the letter that came in the same envelope as the EAD, don't panic. It's okay to file your renewal without it. Including it may help speed things up, that's all.
