Hi folks,

My husband had naturalization interview today but he was send back due to one missing document.I knw he has 30 days to submit but does anyone experienced same situation. How long it takes to get another interview appointment.
Thanks

They sent him back without conducting the interview?

Or did they conduct the interview, with the interviewer telling him to submit the missing document after the interview? If this is what happens, there should be no need for a second interview (although USCIS has the option to call for a second interview within 120 days after the first interview).

I was sent back on my third interview appointment. I showed up and the clerk said my file had not coem yet.
My previous two appointment was cancelled and I received cancel letter in advance. But I did not received such
letter for my third interview appoinment.

But on my third appolintment it is nice of the clerk to tell me that he would make personal inquiry into the matter
and promised he would called in that week. It was monday. On Thursday he did call med and told me my file arrived
and ask if I could come next week. This endded my sceduled-de-schedule perpitual loop and everythoing from then on
became a happy expeirence even I had a complicated matter in my case.

But for OP, I think it is USCIS that get something lost and they are trying to locate it. So the OP does not need to send
anything now but wait.

I kind of supect my a file not arriving in time had something to do with my FIOA request. My FIOA request
was complated before the inetrview though I received it after my naturalization. It was a CD. Inside CD
contained everything I sent to USCIS/INS before including N-400.

The OP mentioned that she knows he has 30 days to send it in, so it sounds like USCIS requested additional information rather than the file not making it to the DO.

I don't think so. I think the OP is confused about her husband's case. We have never seen anyone was sent back
from the interview because request for more docuemnt on applicants is needed. The USCIS can just do interview
and ask the applicants to send requested documents. The USCIS only cancel interview when they can not
bring the docuemnt they have to the interview.

There have been many posts in the past about IOs requesting additional information from applicants at the interview, and that they have 30 days to send it in. Whether USCIS will request a second interview is a separate issue.

The OP never said anything about the interview having been canceled.

But they were all interviewed

The OP never said anything about the interview having been canceled.

Judging by the tone of the post, I believe her husband was not even interviewed. No one would use the term
"sent back" if interviewed. Otherwise we were all sent back.

yes they took his interview and asked for two additional documents.he is submitting tomo. Now whats next.....does he has to wait for another interview or wht?

My husband said they asked for assets too....i never heard about asking for assets nor they asked in yellow letter.

thanks

The need to submit extra documents is not related to whether a second interview will happen. Some people get told to submit documents after the interview, and there is no second interview. While some other people have to do a second interview, without having been told to submit anything after the first interview.

What is going on that you're not telling us about? Was he unemployed for a very long time so they wonder how he supported himself? Or by "assets" are you referring to JOINT assets because the N-400 is based on 3 years of marriage?

no its not based on marriage.Nor he was unemployed for so long as he has his own business.he payed income tax.but we have no property no mortgage nothing.everything is under parents name as we all live together.

how much time it takes after submiting documents?any idea? approximate.....

You read it wrong.
Sent back in the sense that the IO asked the applicant to provide more information within 30 days, not sent back as in not allowed to take interview in first place.
