hi
I want to verify the list of documents to carry during the interview. applying under 5 year rule, and have been at current job and address for 7 years.

-redlight camera ticket - email confirmation of payment
-parking ticket out of state -email confirmation of payment

-answered question 16, as NO

- GC
- DL
- SSN Card
- 2 Photos
- 4 Year Tax Transcripts from IRS
- DMV Driver Record -- No entries at all
- Passports

Carrying for additional proof, just in case.
- Bank Statements
- Utility bills
- Employment Letter
- Birth Certificate

Please let me know if I am missing anything.

Why are you taking traffic ticket proof. the instructions clearly say that you don't need to list these if under $500

parking ticket and redlight camera ticket are not issued to a named person and that is why you don't have to answer Yes to Q 16.
so they don't need to be presented.

I thought it was 5 years worth of tax for the 5 year rule ? Just in case, I also brought the paperwork from my GC.

We are not applying using marriage, but under 5 year rule, so do i need joint utility bills during the interview?

and does the mortgage HUD statement enough for that?

If you think your case is just straight forward case, don't bother about these. These are evidence to prove
you indeed live at your current or former address but if you trust yoru own case not to be suspiscious, why
do you need to prove? If we were paranoid, we could brinbring a carload of documents to interview

Thanks WBH, the more I read the more I get confused. If they wanted any evidence, they would have requested in YL. I didnt even receive YL letter for my case.

YL is not to be trusted and its only usefulness is to remind you gracefully that at least your applciation is not forgoten by USCIS.
YL is apparently issued by some people who review your file asa formality and they give out YL as a formality. I can not
say YL is totally random but it does not reflect what an IO really want to see.

Just use your commen sense to determine. If your case is straight I'll say the
following docs ar eenough

(1) a copy of N-400
(2) GC + Passport +SSN card +birth certificate+marriage cerfificate+birth certificate of children
(3) To more passport photos in case photo submiited with N400 got lost or damaged
(4) Tax transcripts

Most of the above docs are handy at hoem anyway

One more question. I got green card in may 2004 and changed job in may 2005 in same field. I hope that is not a problem and have been at this job from then.

Absolutely not a problem.

BTW, regarding documents to take to the interview. In my own case, I took every single document I thought could be useful if asked for. I organized everything into a binder with clear holders. It doesn't cost you anything to take everything to the interview but it does bring you peace of mind that you may be prepared for anything the IO may ask of you. My only advice is DO NOT volunteer any info and/or documents at the interview and just respond appropriately to the whatever the IO is asking.

thanks @JPBoston, so when you say all the documents, can you provide listing of all the documents, so i can cross-reference it with my list.

Hi troyhouse, I looked at your list at the top of the thread and it looks pretty comprehensive. The only additional docs I think I took with me were my actual completed 1040 tax forms for the past five years, marriage certificate and son's birth certificate. The last two were because I naturalized on the basis of being married to a USC despite getting my GC through work. As a result, I was able to naturalize sooner than the normal five year wait.
