Docs required for FP. ( Newark, NJ with Code-3 )

Hi Guys,

I see here in the forum, the documents required for FP such as receipt notices for the Forms I-485 and I-765.

The question is

Do we need to take the Originals of the receipt notices?

OR

Photo copies of receipt notices are OK? (originals are with my attorney)

Please post your experience ...!!!!

Answer: First of all, receipt notice is not required. People take this for safer side in case if any question asked about I-485 receipt notice. I think its ok to take photo copy of your I-485 notice.
OR

Photo copies of receipt notices are OK? (originals are with my attorney)

In your previous posts I saw this link.(USCIS link).

It says that

All Receipt Notices that were issued to you in relation to your current application for benefits. This includes receipt notices for the Forms I-485 and I-765. It is very important to bring both notices. Biometrics are captured under each separate receipt number for each separate Form, and if you do not present both notices, it can delay the issuance of your benefit document(s) (i.e. EAD or I-551 Lawful Permanent Resident Card.) These notices also provide instructions to ASC staff to capture the proper types of biometric information for each Form type.

I am confused now????

Though it is mentioned as Receipt notices are required, nobody ask for that in ASC. (Thats the reason why I mentioned as not required)

I was not asked when I did my FP/biometrics. All they need is your original FP notice and a valid/unexpired photo id. Your alien# is mentioned in FP notice.

I haven't seen any thread in this forum which says 'Receipt notices were asked during FP process'.

To be in a safer side, its better to take I-485 receipt notices.

i just had code 3 FP done. They do require ORIGINAL FP notice. what is ur attorney going to do with FP notice? ask him/her to send it to you. In my case I got one ORIGINAL copy from USCIS and attorney also send their ORIGINAL to me.

he meant I-485 receipt notice (not FP notice).
