Do we need to send Original Birth Certificate of the Sponser for B2 Visa?

Hello Friends,
I am planning to send documents to my parents. I saw the immihelp.com document list, and it says Original Birth certificate of the sponser is one of the documents that need to be sent. Is that true?

Thanks!

The B-2 visa does not have a "sponsor" per say, like the K-1 or H-1B visas. By "sponsor" you mean "I am the person taking financial responsibility if the applicants get their visas"? In the case of your parents, a copy of the Birth Certificate would prove that the applicants are your parents. However I personally do not think that will be of importance to the consul during the 45 seconds or so he/she will consider the visa application of your parents. Send something that will leave no doubt in his/her mind that your parents will return after visiting the US.
Good luck to your parents!!!
