Do we need to send old(with us visa stamp) and new passport for passport request?

Hi all,

I got a new passport which has new number. India gives both old and new passport attached together with rubber band. Do I need to send old passport(with usa h1b visa stamp) and the new passport I got recently since the old expired.

Can I send both or just the new one with out any visa stamps for canadian PR stamping?

When did you get the new passport ?

As per CIC guidelines you are supposed to inform them if your passport was changed.
If passport change is recent and you have not informed them, please send the new passport only but with photocopy of old passport front page as well as photocopy of H1B visa along with a small letter of explanation.
See the thing is that you had enter old passport number in original application form so you have to show paper trail and passport change so there is no undue delay.

I had sent new passport and did not sent the old passport to avoid any confusion. Also CIC should be informed that you have a new PP and your old PP has expired. If you has informed CIC then send your new PP for stamping of immigrant visa.
 
will they issue the same day

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I got the new passport on July 2004. I didnt inform about new passport to cic. If I go in person, then I could talk to them and let them take the new passport after verifying the old passport.

Any one went in person to get the passport stamped? will they issue back the passports the same day?

How many days they take for PP stamping by mail

How many days they take for PP stamping by mail ? I have sent on 10th Jan 2005 to buffalo. still did not receive..

Anyone have idea who sent and waiting ?

Send both as the old one has the USA visa in it.
