Do we need to go for stamping if we make change of status from H1 to F1..??

Hi All...:)

How are you?

I am a F1 student who has done my Masters in USA and graduated in Dec-2007 and I got H1 approved in October 2008
and I am on H1B visa now. I would like to change my status from H1 to F1 as of layoff. I havent been to India till
now all these years. If i go to India after change of status to F1, do I have to do stamping again>??
 
I'm sure your previous F1 visa has expired so you would need to get a new F1 visa stamp. But make sure you get the F1 approval before you leave if you are doing COS.

My F1 visa is not yet expired.., So as you said after my change of status from H1 to F1, I can go to india and come back with out F1 stamping..>>

Q)After my Change of status to F1,if I got a job in cpt during my second masters ,Can I transfer back to my employer as H1 or Do I need to apply new H1??
 
If your employer still has a job for you and petition is not revoked, you can change status to H1 again and employer can file petition for remaining H1 time.
