Do we need send I-485 to different center?

I am a graduate student in New York. My I-140 (NIW, filed in June 2002) is pending. I am planning to file I-485. My wife just graduated and moved to San Diego to work there. I am going to amend her to my I-485 application. Since she is in California now, can we file her I-485 along with mine to Vermont Center, or she has to file hers to California Center?
