My H1-B is expiring in August 11 and I don’t want to extend my H1-B because
1. I have an EAD
2. I have only seven months left in my 6 year H1-b limit.
3. My I-140 approved.

Do we need to notify my employer and/or USCIS before start using EAD?

Yes you will have to fill a new I-9 form with your current employer once you start using EAD

In fact, there is a section (section 3) in the I-9 form that your employer can fill out to reverify your EAD.

I don't think you need a new I-9 form, given that your employer did fill out one before.

My employer never filled out I-9 for me. Anyway, I'll ask my employer to fill up the I-9 form and verify my EAD. Thanks all who replied.
