Do we have to work in IT field only if we have a H1B?

Hi,

I am posting this question for a friend of mine.

His fiancee had been working in Marketing department in India for a reputed FM radio station. He is finding such kind of similar openings here in US as well. However, he is wondering if on H1 does he have to get her into IT department itself? Can she work in marketing and other fields if she has H1? Is there a restriction that if one is on H1 they have to be in Software and IT field?

Please advice.

---------------------------- If the US employer has openings and not finding US workers then US employer can file H1 if your friend's fiancee Qualifies for H1. You did not post her Education or years of Exp (with Radio Mirchi)

H1 job is for skilled professionals not just IT. She needs to have a 4 year Bachelors degree or 3 year degree with experience. Go through the requirements on this site FAQ.
