Do we have to report membership with professional and acedamic organization

When I went through the process, my lawyer told me to declare
on my N-400 application at least all the memberships that had
been declared earlier on BCIS forms/filings,
on H1B and GC applications.

I had declared memberships in associations specific
to my former country, had dropped them meanwhile.
However, since they had been mentioned earlier, I had
to declare them on my N-400.
I got told that most important is to have consistency
between all information provided in all paperwork/filings
with BCIS.

Then, after filing the N-400, I did join a professional
organization, and I did travel abroad.
Hence, I prepared a piece of paper with the new information,
and gave it to the IO at the interview so he could
update the file. Made things easy.
