Do we have to get PP stamped for the card to be ordered

Hi,
I got approved on 11/19. Its difficult for us to get our passport stamped because we are expecting a kid this week and my wife has complications , i am sure she will be on bedrest until dec last week.
Is it necessary to get the passport stamped?
