Just received my passport card today - havent yet received passport.
for place of birth, it just says "india" but the city is not mentioned - but I had put it down in my application.
Is that the way it is supposed to be? i.e do they not mention city of birth for foreign born applicants?

As place of birth, a choice is yours. You can go with COUNTRY or CITY.Just let them know. But never both.

Are you sure it applies to those US citizens who were born abroad? I am very skeptical of Dept of State's willingness to write the name of a little known city anywhere in the world without mentioning the country.

Did you choose the city or the country in your case? ;)
