Hi, Since we didn\'t receive the letter from Local INS for pp stamping now it\'s gone to VSC for the actual card. Is it usual?

Details: EB3, India, ID June 95, Receipt Date: June 98, Third FP: Sept 00.

Accoring to VSC, they received the info on 3rd Nov. Any body have any idea how long will it take to get the card? Thanks
J

I have no clue of what you are talking about. Could you please be elaborate if you are expecting us to say something.

Not to my knowledge. The processing for the card happens after PP stamping is completed and the papers are sent by Local INS office. But do call VSC and explain the situation. Usually it takes 30-40 days once VSC receive the info for the card.

Thanks aba 485 for replying. I am glad atleast some body understood what I was trying to say. I don\'t know why some people make others more irritated other than the frusration caused by INS.

We were called for interview on 9/14/00 but since the second FP was expired(15 months)the officer didn\'t stamp. And we did the 3rd FP the same day electronically. After that, not hearing from them for 7 weeks, we went to the local office and found out we never got the letter for stamping which they say had been sent few weeks back.

I am doubtful whether VSC will issue the card before the pp stamping.

I called VSC and gave alien number. According to the first IIO, they have no information what so ever. I called again half an hour later and according to the second IIO, they received the info from local INS on 3rd Nov.

Now back to the waiting game, I guess.

I am sorry if I caused more frustration. But if you had given this info in your first post I would have replied better. You are trying to give least information possible and want the best answer. You have to remember that some people click on questions like yours just to see whether they can help (like I did). If you want people to understand your problem, you should give details so that others do not struggle to understand your situation. Please read your question from others stand point (who never got any interview) and think. Also remember that by posting your details you are helping others. Trying to get answers without giving proper description of your case is not a good attitude on this board. And I got such an "Irritated" reply for asking for details. Huh ! Good luck.

Thanks Kiran for your interest.

Some body understood what I was trying to say, right?

If you didn\'t understand it, I think there were 2 things you could do

1. Just ignore it.
2. Ask for details in an appropriate language.

I didn\'t send irritated reply to you.

Hi Jaya, Just find out from VSC what info they received from local INS office. Usually local INS office sends your fingerprinted I-89 form to VSC at the time of PP stamping and that I-89 form is required to process your green card and mostly it takes 30-40 days to get the card after they receive that. Do not assume anything. I had a similar situation when one IIO said that the papers were received from local INS and other IIO said the papers were not received.Of course I had received my card a month back. Good Luck.

Thanks again aba485. What can we do other than listening to the IIO\'s at the service center and local office? I have been trying to contact VSC for the last one hour. Do you know their working hours?

Today INS is closed due to Veterans Day. Every holiday that falls on Saturday is pushed one day back to Friday and those on Sunday are taken on Monday.
