Do I need TRANSIT visa for PARIS if H1 stamp is expired??

Hi All,
Im travelling to India via Paris. My stamp on the passport has expired, BUT I do have the H1 extension documents with me (the I-797)
Do I need to take a transit visa for Paris airport in this situation? Please help. Thanks.

my wife travelled in April,2003 to to INDIA by AIRINDIA flight via Paris, she did not have any problem, her visa also expired in feb,2003 and had an h4 extension

she did not have any problem

Most of the transit visa problem is becos of the airlines, not the transit point... Air france require a valid visa.
