Do I need to visit the consulate for stamping?

I have a valid I-94 and valid H1 visa from my previous employer. I have gotten a new I-129 since (w/ my current employer) and was wondering if I needed to go to the consulate to get a new visa when I visit India? I could do that, but I needed to visit India on a short notice and the current visa interview dates are in April. Thanks for your help!!

I think if you have a valid stamp in your passport from previous employer you can still enter in US by showing that along with petition of current employer.
However, I would advice to check with some attorney before leaving the country.
