I had my h1-B1 stamped for US consulate in Tijuana (Mexico). while coming back at the border check post, the immigration officer took / tore my I-94 (white one originally stapled to my passport when i came to US on F1) and then stapled the Green I-94 (one that come with I-797) on my passport , stamped my passport and let me in.

The question is do i need to file for a new / lost I-94 ?. would their be any problem for my future re-entrys ( i plan to go to india in Dec 04)

Any suggestions welcomed. thank you

----stapled Green I-94 is your valid recent I-94, when you go out of US next time give it to Airline counter and when you will come back you will get new whilte I-94

---- not needed you have valid I-94 in your passport stapled( just keep the copy of I-94 front and back in your immigration file for future records)

----no problem
Any suggestions welcomed. thank you

Hi Paradhkar,
it is normal procedure, don't worry, you are fine. If you visit India, then when you come back, they will issue you a new I-94. You are all set.
