I am married to a US citizen and have just applied to remove the conditions on my green card. My husband and I now need to go out of the country for a year to a year and a half on work. Do I need to apply for a reentry permit or is it enough if we visit the US every four or five months?

Advice/thoughts much appreciated.

Also, I know that reentry permits are given till the expiry of the conditional green card. will they still give one if the person is transiting from conditional to permanent?

Thanks for the response. I would never have thought of section 319 b; alas we don't qualify. Does anyone know if one would get a two year reentry permit under such circumstances i.e. longer than the one-year extension letter you get when you apply for removal of conditions?

Yes you should be able to get a 2-year reentry permit if you've filed to remove conditions. However, it would become void if they deny the I-751.
