Do I need new visa stamp if even previous I797 may have been revoked

I quit company A in Apr 2004 and joined company B. I had my visa stamped with company A I797, valid till 2007. I also have new I797 from company B valid till 2007. I was told by certain attorney that I can use my valid Visa stamp to enter into US as long as company A has not revoked my H1B. (I assume revocation is same as cancelling H1B which companies normally do). There is no good way to know if they have revoked or not in my case since they are a very large company. However, the general opinion in most forums and also verified by an independent attorney that revocation of old I797 is irrelevant as long as visa is valid. Please reply if anyone have explored the validity of visa stamp in regards to the revocation of old I797 associated with the visa stamp.
It is also explained quite well at http://www.murthy.com/print/n_immrum_P.html. However, it does not address the revocation condition.

----------------- even if the A has revoked H1 petition and you have new H1 through B you CAN enter US becase petition is approved /revoked by USCIS and Visa stamp is NOT becasuse USCIS does not issue Visa stamp at it under DOS. show the valid Visa stamp through A AND H1 approval through B at POE and you will get I-94 till your new H1 approval validity date( keep new employer letter + 3-4 recent pay stubs through B show at POE ONLY if asked)
