Do I need EAD after 140 is approved?

Hi, my 140 is approved on Jan 6, 485 was filed together with 140 in Nov 2003 and is still in process. Is it safe/legal to switch to another company right now? And do I still need to show the new company my EAD (which is expiring Dec 2005).

Congrats on your I-140 approval,
If your I-485 has been filed for more than 180 days than you can use AC21 to change the job.
If you are changing the job on the basis of GC using AC21 then yes you have to show your EAD to the new company also you have to keep your EAD current. That means you should get a NEW EAD before this one gets expired.
To use AC21 to change the job is legal, but how safe it is, that depends on many circumtances.
