Do i need APPLY for plastic/ automatic?

No online status - doesnt work. Will they automatically order card [got that impression from INS] or do i need to do anything else. They collected I-89 print+signature for that so should i assume it's in the works?

BTW - they insisted on my signing both names which is diff from my usual signature eg on my passport - is that a problem?

Chances i get plastic before N-400 gets approved?

Hi,

I think you should be a PR for 5 years before you can apply for N-400. You can probably apply about 3-4 months before the 5 years are over.

Thanks for clarity on I-89. On the N-400 tho, I'm in 3mo window of 3yrs since CPR so i can apply. the only reason i waited & didnt do it a mo ago is that apparently NY/NJ has been denying N400 based on technicality if I751 was not granted even tho' the app form says that's the only req'ment for spousal cases.
