Past:
April 2004 - Initial application - Employment based
August 2007 - I-140 (approved)
August 2007 - (Concurrent filing) Filed I-485 and I-693 (medical and vaccination report supplement) along with EAD and AP
Late 2007 - Completed Biometrics
Long wait after that...
Present:
March 2011 - Got married to USC
April 2011 - Filed I-130 and a letter requesting to switch I-485 from Employment based to Family based (Kept same I-485 with same SRC# for family based application)
April 2013 - Request for evidence
May 2013 - Request for Initial interview scheduled in July 2013
Below is one of the 'Request for Interview' requirements (amongst a million others):
You must bring the following items with you: (Please use as a checklist to prepare for your interview)
A completed medical examination (Form I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted)
Can they get any more confusing???
Do I need to get another medical and vaccination for our interview, seeing that I had already filed the I-693 along with the I-485 back in 2007? There is a clause in the I-693 about filing within 12 months of medical examination, but nothing else.
I have called USCIS twice and on both occasions I was told since I had filed I-693 along with the I-485, I need not worry about it. Should we take their word? And walk in there with our charming personalities and wing it, or take the medical exam again. To play it safe I plan on contacting the physician to see if I can duplicates of all reports (sealed and unsealed).
Please help us with this situation.
Thanks.
