Do approval notices get forwarded in the mail?

Hi Guys,

Any evidence for or against that INS approval notices
get forwarded in the mail.

Hi Bongo,

To my knowledge mail from INS or any Government Org. does not get forwarded. You might be aware that we need to fax a change of address form with the INS, which is what I did when I moved.

I didn\'t see any restrictions on the mail forwarding form
I sent (apart from large parcels).

Recently, I got a social security office document (federal),
civil service document (state) documents forwarded
in the mail.

Anyone had any positive/negative experiences with INS
documents getting forwarded. I didn\'t see anything on
their envelopes saying NOT to forward them.

Bongo, some mails can\'t be forwarded as requested by senders ...

"INS doesn\'t forward mails" means "INS doesn\'t allow USPS to forward mails from INS". They put "Return Service Requested" on the envelopes. However it may not apply to all INS mails. Some mails got forwarded but not all of them.

Today I recd the EAD for my wife
It says
US Official Mail
Penalty for private use $500

No - This does not have any special restriction like "Return Service requested" or
Do Not forward
etc etc

I am sure that my friend got his approval notice forwarded in the mail

Hope the latest people who got their approval in the mail could check their envelopes for any special restriction etc etc

The envelopes for my AP has "return service requested",
stamped on them but doesn\'t that mean if there is no
forwarding address it gets returned to the sender?
Note that my address is hand written on the envelope,
it was not computer generated.

I don\'t want to call up the INS and change my address
right now, because they will notice that I\'ve
moved from the west coast to east coast and it may
cause problems.

Hopefully the attorney will get a copy and I can use that
to get a passport stamp.

A few months after passport stamping I\'ll change my address
with the INS.

I checked up on the USPS web site.

If an envelope is stamped "Return Service Requested",
it means that it will be returned to the sender
even if you\'ve requested mail forwarding. In this
case the new forwarding address will be
stamped on the envelope before it is returned.

So the $65,000 question is:

"Do the AOS approval notices get stamped
\'Return Service Requested\'."?

My AP notices
did, someone said the EAD card envelopes did not,
what about AOS approvals, any one care to
share if their AOS approval envelope
had "Return Service Requested" stamped on it.

Green Card Approval Msge using AVM from CSC Center....

Bongo, Could you please let me know if there are any recent changes made in the AVM
for the green card approval CSC Center. I have applied and awaiting for my I-485 approval
from the CSC center.

Please let me know what exactly the message has to get displayed after approval of I-485.
The reason I am asking this because reecently, there has been changes occured for the
fingerprints messages. Does any changes occurs the same for the I-485 approval and if so
what is the exact message it appears on the AVM.

Please let me the exact message it appears on the AVM after approval of I-485 from CSC.

If you were smart enough, you would NOT have checked USPS to waste your time :)

"return service requested" meant "do not
forward in the mail".

Hey I\'m a still a dumb foreigner (albeit
with a GC) and still don\'t understand a lot
about this country!

Have you got your approval notice as yet?
If so, what does the envelope say.

The guy who posted about EAD cards is right,
my EAD card envelope does NOT mention
"Return Service Requested". Hope the same
is true for AOS approval notices.
