Divorce?

My husband and I were married 8 years ago. He finally got his green card about 3-4 years ago. (He is British)

We now find ourselves beginning an amicable divorce, remaining friends.
Our fear is that he will have his green card revoked if he isn't married to an American citizen. He has a good job and we would like for him to remain in the States if at all possible.

Will he be asked to leave or deported, if we go through with the divorce?

Thanks kindly for any help.

since you have been married for so long, it is highly unlikely that your marriage will ever be suspected as fictitious.

I am assuming that he has a permanent (unconditional, 10 year validity) card, so you can proceed with a divorce with no problems.
