Divorce Case in US - Tourist Visa application overseas

One of my friend got married to a US resident boy few years ago. The girl's family spent huge money on this marriage. The boy already had some other relationship in the US, but he still kept visiting her in Iran during this time period. He told her that he had applied for her immigrant visa application, but 'never gave her any information/receipt #.

This whole episode almost ruined her life. She is an engineer. She had visited Spain and Switzerland etc on business visas but never overstayed. She is studing in New Zeland from last one and a half years and did not violate her student visa (which is valid even for another year). This guy started harassing her on one excuse or another. Since she did not marry this guy merely for a US visa, and hence! she never applied for this visa either.

The US based boy finally filed for a divorce in the US, which she is fighting by hiring a US based attorney from last 5 months. In an effort to save himself from alimony/property matters, the boy has started submitting in-accurate financial documents to her attorney now. Attorney is continuously asking her to visit USA temporarily to assist him in un-earthing these in-accurate claims.

Ques:
1. She is having 1 month vacations in her school in New Zeland. She has US$10,000.00 in her bank accounts. Can she apply for a US visa for this vacation time period to visit her attoney/courts/some investigating agency to fight her divorce case properly so that she doesnt get cheated?
2. What are the chances they she will be granted a tourist visa while she is technically married to a US guy?
3. Which visa category it will be?
4. Her attorney can send her all the divorce procedings/court docs/personal letter etc, does she need anything else?
5. Can she apply for this visa at some US Consulate in New Zeland?
6. Does she need to get services of other immigration attorney as well?

Please advice.

A1: She can apply for a B-2 visa
A2: Not really bright, but there is only one way to find out
A3: B-2
A4: She needs a little lady luck
A5: If she has temporary resident status in New Zealand, than she should apply there
A6: Not in my opinion

I am curious though. It is evident that she never had any marital relationship with this man. Why is she fighting the divorce then?

It appears from her message that she did have marital relationship with this boy, but boy just cheated her for something unknown. A lot of people fight divorce cases to get justice in property/financial matters as well. All the best!
