...and our appointment is only 3 weeks away. he's so sad and stressed out...
i got my EAD card and have been working. so financially we're alright. but how can we explain to the interviewer if he cannot find a job before the interview?
we're petrified and don't know what to do. please give us some suggestions. thank you.

I'm sorry you have to go through this just before the interview. What income is your I-864 based on? Your husbands' only or yours also?

Does anyone know if there's such a thing as an amended I-864 if employment situation changes, or is that settled at the interview when you show new evidence (in this case the OP's pay stubs instead of her husband's I would assume)?

That's enough though for the 125% poverty level, right? So what you need to find out is essentially if, after filing I-864 based on your husbands income, you can now include your income. I know you can include the spouse's income as part of the income requirement, the question is now how can that be changed for the purposes of the I-864 if it's not so designated on the I-864 that they have filed. ... and is it even necessary to change?

Fill out a new I-864 including your prospected income for the year. Include an employment letter and your latest paystubs. IF your income alone (plus the property you and your husband own) does not meet the poverty guidelines requirements. Then you need to find a co-sponsor to also sign another I-864.

Your hubby remains your sponsor, even if he makes $ 0.

Thanks,PraetorianXI!
But do we need to submit the new I-864 to USCIS Chicago office, or just bring it to our interview?
