Disapproving GC after approval?? HELP

Hi All,

Did anyone have similar experience?
We had applied family case GC for me (my husband is American),
got approved without much problems 2 weeks ago, I got a stamp
in a passport and received a letter from INS saying I'm now a permanent
resident, and that I will receive the card in few weeks.
Now my lawyer called us today and told us that he received
a letter from INS saying that my case has been reviewed and
I'm not any longer a permanent resident, so it has been dissaproved.
Just one sentence, no explanation, nothing else.
He has been trying to get ahold of INS officer, so far no news.
Any idea what could it be? He suggested that maybe security check
has not gone through yet, but we shouldn't have been approved
on a first place 2 weeks ago, right?

Any ideas, anyone?!

Thank yoU!

Both your lawyer and you should receive that letter. If you do not recieve it, then make sure that you see the orignal hardcopy your lawyer recieved.

After seeing the letter the lawyer received, try to call the 800 number and see what is going on. They should mention why such thing has took place.

For me, and so far, the USCIS has been a very professional organization. I think calling them and scheduling an infopass would help you a great deal.

Ask your husband to help you out by contacting your local congressman.

Good luck,

I wouldnt trust that lawyer. Get an INFOPASS and visit your DO. You will know first-hand what's going on instead of hearing it from your lawyer all the time. If security checks were not cleared, you would not have been approved in the first place.

Yeah, we have not received the letter, it's lawyer only.

We will try to schedule INFOPASS, thanks for suggestion. How long is the line normally, how many days before appointment? we are in Boston.

Thanks!

Try to get the earliest slot in the morning as there is very less crowd before 9AM.

Thanks for your advise, everybody!
I scheduled an appointment, hopefully it's some stupid mistake ...I'll keep my
fingers crossed.
