Different position after 180 days

Guys,
When I started my LC 3 years ago my title was Software Engineer - duties included SQL programming.

Now I would like to change employer and work as a DBA. The new position includes SQL programming which is common with the job description on the LC.

I would like to know if these 2 positions fall under the same job category, and if I can safely work as a DBA. I have completed 180 days since my RD of 7/01.

from the sound of it it is a different job description

INS is very clear that to apply AC21 portablility (AC21) you have to have same or similar

I would not advice You to take up the job however u should consult an AC21 expert attorney if u seriously want to take it up

manishw, How have you been, I just heard the other guy from "Van nuys" got his approval, his RD is 07/15/2001 which is later than yours. I assume you should get your approval or any time soon. Please keep updated. Thanks

That is the reason lawyers tend to stick with generic titles

Actually the lawyers in my company has always filed with a very generic job description such as an Analyst or Engineer. Without mentioning specific skills like java or c++ but something like Requirements Gathering, Design and Development etc. This gives more flexibility
