different opinions

Hi everyone,

I had two questions.

1.) Does anyone have a recommendation about lawyers for an NIW or EB1 case around the Boston area?

2.) We've contacted a couple of lawyers. One said that our case was good, the other said that there aren't enough publications and the case is weak but it was doable. So my question is that how do you navigate the different opinions you get.

Thanks for your time.

I would go for the one that is more honest and one way to find out is whether they can tell you your case is weak. And the reason is that one that says your case is very good might be just doing it to make you feel better for your application so that he can have your business. One that says your case doesn't have any motive to make such comment.

Thanks for answering.

Maybe I should give a little more information.

The lawyer that said the case was weak had problems with the number of publications. He said there weren't enough. But at the same time he said it was doable.

The other one didn't think that was a problem according to his experience and he cited some cases.

I was also wondering about something else. Do you guys think that the current economic problems in the US is leading to USCIS rejecting more cases?

I mean like is there an attitude of preserving jobs for americans that leads to the reviewers being less inclined or more harsh on cases?

I think your second argument would be more based on individual adjudicators. Some might think along those lines but USCIS cannot take such a stand as an institution. It would be illegal.

I consulted 3 Attorneys, everybody said it is very difficult if I donot have any publoication. Whenever I met them I thaught in their point of view and improved my application. I filed by my self, and it is approved finally. Read forumns, compare your abilities.......Are you confident? go for it.I think they donot see the quantity, quality is more important. By the way mine was NIW EB2 NSC.
