Different job within same company - AC21 issue

Hello All,
I am currently a engineer and have been offered a position in Finance department of my company, since I just completed my MBA. The position is Strategy Analyst. This position requires my engineering knowledge. Also all the employees in that Department have a engineering background with a MBA degree.

My lawyer and HR personnel have indicated that we can reply to my RFE when it comes, by arguing the above mentioned facts.
1) The new position requires a engineering degree
2) All the people in that department have undergraduate engineering degree

I would like to hear from people who have made similar decisions to move to new positions based on additional education like MBA, etc., after having filed for their I-485. Is this feasible?

----- if the job duties are not same/similar(as on approved LC) for future permanent job may be problem to use AC21,
2) All the people in that department have undergraduate engineering degree
