Hello immigration people!
What to do with situation when the first name on I-485 application is different then in passport?
Example: I-485 Smith Mark;
            Passport Smith Makr;

Any problems during stamping or at any time?
Thanks!

Thanks but...

here is the answer from attorney:
"...As far as the green card goes, INS goes by the birth cert.
If the passport is wrong, it should be corrected. They might not stamp it. ..."

have to use the name which is right...

Not what is fixable easily. If the name in passport is wrong, fix it. But I do not accept the lawyer\'s logic of BC. There are many countries which do not give out a name in the birth certificate (just parents\' names, place, date/time).
A way to get over this would be to get affidavits from your parents, elderly relations (who could have been present during your birth) about the actual name and other birth details.
