difference between PD and ND

Can anybody tell me the difference between PD and ND? Which date does INS consider for 485 processing?

PD is Priority date..is the date of your LC filling. where as notice date ND is the date when INS got your I485 form.
 TSC picks random, I guess; looking at approvals lately. I see lot of ND 8/00 and later being approved.

If ND is the date when INS got our form, what is receipt date(RD)?

ND is the date, what INS puts in the computer system as form received on and henceforth, when you check status of your I485 the AVM will say..INS got the form on this(ND) date and will take so & so days to process this kind of case..and they go ..blah..blah..blah.

Where as RD is when your mail reached them and filed(data not entered in system). This date your lawyer would know.
