diff A# of 140 and 485

Does any body, especially concurrent filers, have such experience, that I140 and I485 have different A#? Can that cause problems in processing?

You should have single A#. But I am not sure how did you get a A# in I140 reciept? or is it from the approval?

Anyway, either you can call INS and fix the problem or can fax them. This is a minor hiccup and all service centers are famous for this.

Let's make this questions more clear

On 485 application there is one filed A# (if any) and it should be filled with the INS A# on your optional practical training card (and this number is shared on all your previous EAD cards);

On 140 approval notice there is a filed beneficialry and it was given a different number from the above A# and this number will appear in the filed in 485 notice in filed Applicant.

Are you asking bout these two numbers?

Mine look like this. I think they are all right and INS gives out a new number to applicant starting from the 140 approvals.

Any GC holder through 140 cases may clear this a little bit. Thanks.

Hi, I think you should get with your lawyer and check into it. Your A# is fixed when you start your I140 process and should remain unchanged.

i filed 485 while 140 pending. One month later my 140 is approved and got different A# from 485 receipt. Not sure if any other applicants have similar problem. INS may failed to consolidate my documents in one month.
