"new Winners" and "backups"
What I noticed is 2 batches of emails were sent, 1st batch on the 18th, 2nd on the 19th

So those that recieved the email on the 18th are the new 100k selectees, and those that recieved an email on the 19th are backups to the 100k selectees, because of all of the comotion and stuff that happened this year. note the number of people that recieved the email on 19 is huge maybe in the mills, but not alot recieved it on the 18, which was the first day of recieving emails.

this is my opinion, if you guys wanna start posting when you recieved your emails.
 
Backup for what? They always select 100K no mater if later on they are rejected at the interview time...actually the 100k is already including the "backup", remember only 50K are granted with the green card, well, actually 45K...
 
Yes I know that, but what I meant was, 100k emailed on 18th, and another mill or 2 emailed on the 19th (my assumption is they know if they select just 100k this year, they might not have enough people to fill the "50k" visas because of all that happened this year with people destroying their apps and moving on.

do you know how many people check on may 1st, 2nd, 3rd...and found out they lost and they never bothered with it again, and are just waiting for next year? so let say 100k they choose would have 60k that actually check on may 1st found out they lost and moved on?
 
Based on everything that has happened thus far, it really won't surprise me if everyone who has gotten the e-mail are in fact winners.

The emails was sent to applicants who checked their status online between
1st May to the day the site went down. It has nothing to do with winners or selection. Most of the initial winners didn't receive such email because DOS believes the ex-winners retained confirmation page.

Beside, the way this are going now with all this DV 2012 lottery review, it is 80% to 20% chance now to reinstate the initial winners. The news is all over the internet, am sure the investigation would end up in favor of the ex-winners.
 
I'm trying to find a pattern, to why the emails arrived in such batches and your talking about the ex winners? you actuLLY THINK THOSE 20K people will win back their chance? thats a 0% relealistic chance....I gaurantee you on the 15th of july. new winners will posted and life will move on weather we know it or not.

as for your notion that the emails to those that checked, me and my brother nullify your opinion, we never checked. he recieved an email and I didnt., we both use Hotmail, high speed connection....etc etc
 
I just think they ran a program to email EACH applicant, but they were MILLIONS, so it took a while, that's why some got it on the 18th and some on the 19th. And the ones that never got it it's because of hotmail fault because the hotmail smartscreen thought it was spam, since that server was emailing so many accounts at the same time. That's my theory

Again myself and many others also checked the ESC and never received the e-mail. Yup, there is a big possibility that the ex-winners will be re-instated. Nothing is clear cut; therefore anything is possible at this point.
 
Def good theory Dan, I just wanna know the ratio of those that recieved emails on the 18th compare to 19th in this forum, that way we know if you are in the right direction or Iam.....so people please keep your topics about the 22k ex winners for an apporpriate thread

I got the email on the 18may,@ some furumite some winners still get the email i know that dos who did not recieve the email will never agree with us we are just suggesting anyway goodluck to everybody come july15
 
Yes, those that received the e-mails might be the actual winners, but saying those that received it on the 18th are the main winners and those that got it on 19th are backups is BS! Remember these e-mails were sent region by region? and probably countries by countries that was why people from different countries received it 18th and 19th respectively! And i even saw someone that wrote he recieved his/hers on the 20th.
 
Maybe the people who didn't get emails are winners. Maybe people who did not enter are winners.
Come on guys, lets just wait (until the 15th) and stop with this nonsense.
